Warntracker.com/latest-layoffs now shows up-to-date information from the latest published WARN notices  from 39 states (including the tech heavy states of California, Texas, Washington).  We’ll be adding more soon.

Q: How does this compare with other layoff trackers?

A: Great question, it differs in several ways:

1. We are following individual WARN records from government entities, rather than crowdsourced data.

2. Most of these records indicate exact offices and employee counts affected at each office, rather than just a single overall number for the entire company

3. These records are often more exhaustive than the crowdsourced data. This means they reflect small layoffs, as well as layoffs from companies which may not be large enough to be announced in the press

4. The timing of these notices' filing can vary -- they may be made available before or after a public announcement, so if you really want to stay on top of things, then you can follow both types of sources
