Introducing WARNTracker.com
Learn how tech industry layoffs are affecting different roles, office locations, and company bottom line. We use publicly-available information that employers are required to file with certain states.
Last week I (
) posted some analysis on the Google layoff public WARN records on LinkedIn. It received > 500,000 impressions and hit #2 on the Hacker News home page for a day (even surpassing the launch announcement for ChatGPT Plus 😅)
Clearly, the analysis hit a nerve, so this weekend we made a website aggregating more WARN records, along with charts and analyses on roles affected, payroll reductions, and more.
What is WARN? Several states require employers to file public notices about large layoffs called WARN notices. These records outline exactly what positions and office locations are impacted by layoffs.
We currently have records covering recent layoffs from Google, Salesforce, and Amazon in California, and we will be adding more in the coming days.
Subscribe for regular updates when new WARN records are processed, as well as insights gained from WARNTracker.com data.
In the meantime see the charts from our data so far
